Swallowing and/or communication difficulties can be as a result of a stroke or a progressive neurological problem such as Parkinsons’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Dementia etc.
The service also provides assessment and therapy for clients who stammer.
If there is a problem with swallowing, referrals needs to be accessed via your GP or allied Health professional within Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust.
If there is a problem with communication only, you can refer to the service directly or ask your GP or Health Professional within Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust to refer.
We offer clinic appointments here and at the Healthport on Vicarage Lane in Fulwood and also domically visits depending on the needs of the client.
